52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks? You’re On!

Each new year brings new beginnings. Normally, I am not one to make resolutions, comprehending that too often life gets in the way, and well-laid plans get all mucked up. But for 2020, I thought, “What the heck! I’m gonna make not just one but two resolutions. That’s doable, right?!”

My first resolution is for my body. As I am not getting any younger, I will work harder at working out this year. Since this is not going to happen miraculously, I guess I will have to block some time in my busy schedule for exercise. Lord help me!

The second is for my mind and my soul. I will research and write about our families’ ancestors on a more regular basis. “What?” you may be wondering. “Don’t you already blog about your ancestors? Why would you want to write even more about dead people? What’s wrong with you?”

Well, I am a genealogist. It is my nature to seek dead people. Sorry (not sorry)! But as to why I would like to write “more”, I would counter that I don’t want to write more; instead, I want to write “more regularly.”

With that said, I will be participating in Amy Johnson Crow’s 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks writing prompts. This week’s writing theme is a no-brainer: Fresh Start. Since my New Year’s writing resolution would qualify as a new start, challenge accepted. Now, let’s get writing!
